Fly Fishers Place
Good fishing this week; streamers and balanced minnows produced well, and a Callibaetis nymph under an indicator hammered fish in the last hour of the day. Fish also keying on water boatman on the surface.

Good fishing with streamers most productive once a breeze put a ripple on the water; nymph under indicator worked in calm morning conditions. Yellowstone cutthroat were recently stocked at 7 inches average and ODFW patched dam outlet leaks.

Can be fickle as brook trout stack up and can become lock-jawed in fall; small streamers or a patient chironomid approach under an indicator can entice fish.

Upper lake temps are expected to be good, but lake level is quite low. Fish may be spreading down from the upper lake into the channel as conditions improve.

Hosmer was a highlight of the week with consistent action all day on a Red PT Jig under a NZ Wool indicator. A callibaetis hatch appeared near lunch in the upper lake, and water boatman produced explosive takes in the channel.

Upper Hosmer fished well with fish preferring a stripped fly on a slow sinking line over indicator techniques. Callibaetis hatches are present but inconsistent; damsel activity is good.
