Fall River is fishing excellently in late October with consistent spring-fed flows and recent stocking keeping trout active around deeper slots, weed edges, and submerged structure. Both dry-fly and subsurface fishing are productive with a wide variety of patterns working.

Fall River is fishing exceptionally well following two stocking events of 2-3lb fish early in October. Dry fly and nymph action both productive; fish are targeting small bugs including midge emergers, BWOs, tricos, and spinners, with PMDs and caddis also present.

Dry fly action has remained consistent with caddis, PMDs, BWOs, and midges all popping off; midges and BWOs are the primary targets. Nymphing with leeches, small streamers, and standard nymph patterns has also been productive, and switching flies frequently is recommended given heavy angler pressure.

Fall River is seeing active hatches of caddis, PMDs, BWOs, and midges with fish keying primarily on midges and BWOs. Crowds are heavy at the Hatchery and Campground; arriving by 7am is recommended to secure a spot, though fish remain willing between anglers if you switch flies frequently.
