Fishing was good last week with anglers working the flat out from the resort and partway up the Cultus Channel. Balanced leeches and Seal Buggers on an indicator or hover/intermediate line were the top producers.

Cooler temperatures and improved water clarity have led to improved rainbow trout fishing, with abundant trout in the 12–16 inch range spread throughout river arms and channels. Reservoir is at 60% full and being slowly drawn down; closes to angling November 1, 2026.

A tough season overall on Crane Prairie, with the most recent report calling it not worth the time and effort. Earlier in fall, leeches and chironomids were the best producers, with slow action and unpredictable wind conditions.
