Davis Lake Fishing Report

Davis Lake has been fishing fantastically for largemouth bass with a wide variety of surface and subsurface patterns working well. A midday lull occurs around 1–3pm, but morning and evening fishing off the lava flow and around weed beds is productive.

Davis has been fishing well but access is severely hampered by knee-deep mud required to launch any watercraft. Even lightweight craft like a Flycraft struggled to put in.

A mild winter has resulted in warmer than normal surface water temperatures, and anglers report active bass and a hot start to the season. Fly-fishing only with barbless hooks required; catch-and-release for trout.

Bass fishing has been excellent around the lava flow, with two anglers reporting incredible luck. A drift boat launched on the far side of the lake or a paddleboard is recommended for access.

Anglers targeting bass had good success over the past week, primarily on small olive poppers and small streamers. Best action was around weed beds in open water and along grass edges on the east side.
