Lakes on the Cascade Lakes Highway, including Davis Lake, are fishing well as water temperatures climb and fish become increasingly active. Callibaetis and damsel nymph activity is building, with indicator fishing and slow-stripped leeches among the most productive approaches.

Fishing was productive with multiple trout and jumbo perch to hand, plus one quality largemouth bass caught on a topwater blowup. Water levels have dropped significantly in recent years, which has reduced the largemouth bass population considerably.

Anglers targeting bass have been getting good results on small olive poppers and small streamers. Best action around weed beds in the open lake and along the grass edges on the east side.

Fishing has been tough all month with very low water levels making launching at the lava flow difficult. Better catch rates on the north and east side of the lake; ODFW electroshocking of large bass is impacting the population.

Davis Lake has been slow so far this season, possibly due to water temps not yet warm enough to bring big bass to the surface. Most success along the lava flow on the north side and grassy east side.
