The Crooked is the most fishable river in the area with acceptable water temps, manageable smoke, and good flows. Fishing has been quite good on small caddis nymphs and dries, midges, scuds, perdigons, PMD nymphs, and leeches.

Anglers report excellent fishing for trout and whitefish with recent ODFW sampling indicating healthy and robust fish populations. Nymphing with small midge, scud, and mayfly imitations have been most effective, with fish rising in the afternoon.
