Snoqualmie River Fishing Report

Mountain forks of the Snoqualmie are fishing great with pocket water and dry fly action all day long. Attractor patterns and caddis are working well; match the hatch is optional as fish are actively feeding.

Mid-June is historically a good time to fish the forks of the Snoqualmie. Light snowpack this year means the river will drop throughout summer, so anglers are encouraged to get trout fishing in before water temperatures rise too high for ethical catch and release.

The Snoqualmie Forks are running high at approximately 1100 cfs and may rise further with warm weather. Anglers who know the river well can find safe spots for good presentations; the South Fork is noted as smaller with fewer anglers.

Flows will fluctuate due to spring rain and snowmelt, making conditions touch and go. On warmer days fish may rise to large dry flies; dropping a small nymph dropper is recommended.

Middle Fork flows are at 760 cfs, well below the threshold for guiding, making it fishable. Dry fly activity is unlikely yet but worth trying on warmer afternoons, with a Stimulator and dropper rig as the recommended setup.

A small window remains open through the end of February to swing for steelhead in a couple of productive runs at current flows. Season closes end of February.

Closes at the end of January along with the Skykomish system. Water has been low, cold, and clear.
