Statewide low water and warm temperatures are compressing trout into oxygenated riffles and shaded holding lies earlier than usual. Active summer hatches of PMDs, stoneflies, and caddis continue to offer fishing opportunities especially during cooler parts of the day.

Valley tributaries and smaller streams are recommended over mainstem rivers due to low, warm water conditions. Fish are being pushed into riffles and pool heads as dissolved oxygen drops in warmer stretches.
